Update on Grantham foodbank 28th JanuaryJust another quick update from from Brian after a busy week at Grantham Foodbank
I was asked to give presentation to Learning communities group this week. Turned out to be over 100 senior business managers and group coordinators. My hope is that awareness has massively grown and more friends made. This included management from Job Centre Plus,we hopefully have managed to encourage them to engage at a more effective level. We are in the midst of signing up four more voucher distributors
A busy week at the foodbank all of the goods from Sainsburys have been sorted and prepared for distribution we have distributed to
58 people this week which included 28 children.
There are items that make our food packs up that we are short of: Sugar small, tinned spagetti, Shaving foam/gel, Tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, and tinned meat and fish we would welcome more of these items.
The next collection is set for the Morrison's centre in March 17th. And we have just agreed a collection date with Asda April 14th hope your available to help please contact Liz woods at firstname.lastname@example.org
Yes we are now being supported by the big three supermarkets in Grantham a big thank you goes out to the management and staff of those stores. We would love to be adopted as your charities for this year.
A big thank you goes out too approx 2500 people that have given to this project since we opened in July. We have truly appreciated your support but sense that we are only just starting to reach the areas of pain that we are working in.
We still need to increase the amount of voucher holders, so we can reach all of the areas that families and individuals are gaining support from the agencies that do such a good job in our town.
We are still looking to be adopted by local business so we can make this project financially viable. So please encourage them to engage with us.
Thank you again for your on going support
